Eco Council

We have a very active Eco Council at New Oscott Primary School.  Supported by Mrs Walklett, our Eco Councillors are actively involved in identifying how to make the school more environmentally friendly.  This year, Eco Council held a competition to make a robot out of recycled materials or draw/paint an endangered animal in the Autumn term. They also organised numerous litter picks and a popular Book Swap in the Spring term – as well as the 2025 RSPB Big Bird Watch in February.

Additionally, they have supported classes with ways to become more 'green'.  Summer Term plans include leading an assembly, litter picks, planting a wild flower meadow for the Platinum Jubilee, holding a cake sale for wildlife charities and setting up a gardening club!
